Elon Musk who’s the owner of Tesla company has SpaceEx has stepped foot in the perfume industry as well. He recently launched a perfume called “Burnt Hair” which seems like an idea taken from the crypto-burning process but in actuality, the motivation came from the smell of burning hair.
Elon is already known for his enthusiasm and support for cryptocurrency and his decision of letting people buy this perfume with cryptocurrency proves that even more. The initial sign of this perfume was already available in September month when the Tesla owner first tweeted about this.
The news of this product was made available through a Twitter post by Elon on 12 October where he said
“With a name like mine, getting into the fragrance business was inevitable — why did I even fight it for so long.”
He also referred to this perfume as the “Finest fragrance of Earth”. This perfume is also called the “Essence of repugnant desire”. A single bottle of this perfume cost around $100 or Rs. 8.4k which you can buy directly from the official Boring company website. Out of the other cryptocurrency, Dogecoin is considered Elon’s favorite as he also got the name Dogefather after this.
And to continue with his name he chose Doge as the main crypto to buy his perfume. Not only that you can also use the crypto platform Bitpay which supports more than 13 cryptocurrencies. The supported cryptos by Bitpay are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Wrapped Bitcoin, ApeCoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Euro Coin, and the dollar-pegged stablecoins Gemini Dollar, USD Coin, Pax Dollar, DAI, and Binance USD.
In an interview, he clarified that he does not favor meme crypto. Because some wealthy people are asking him to, it’s just his personal preference.
The perfume will come in a stunning red bottle with the product name Burnt Hair written in silver script on the front. The product will be available to be bought somewhere in 2023. But through a tweet, Elon Musk informed his fans that already 10,000 bottles of this perfume is sold. And he’s waiting for the media news of $1 Million worth of Burnt Hair being sold already.
Elon Musk is facing Legal issues
To promote the product even more Elon edited his Twitter Bio to a Perfume salesman and even made a tweet to increase the crazy even more. The post says “Please Buy My Perfume So I Can Buy Twitter”. This wasn’t the only crazy idea of the Tesla owner back in 2017 when he was selling hats on his “The boring company”, he changes his name to a hat salesman
Currently, Elon is stuck in a legal case filed by Twitter on canceling the deal of the platform Twitter itself by the Elon. Earlier Elon showed a big interest in Buying the Twitter platform but ended up keeping it on hold because of the unavailability of the accurate data of bots that are present on Twitter.
This whole situation is going on for 3 months now, and last week on asking for more time to buy Twitter, the Delaware court delayed the trial so that Elon can complete his $44 Billion twitter purchase.
With this launch not only the creative marketing technique used by Elon Musk was seen. But the people’s comments on the Tesla owner’s tweet were even more interesting. Many people even shared pictures of them buying Burnt Hair. Which is leading to a chain reaction of people, more and more people are buying the product now.
Elon musk is a successful businessman regardless of the industry as he has made a name for himself out there in the world. Even the marketing techniques used by the billionaire are unique which makes it easier to achieve the goal.
